The Chicken Meal, Rice and Lamb formula is nutritionally complete and
balanced for all stages of your pet's life according to AAFCO Nutrient Profiles
for Dog Foods.
Calcium/Phosphorus Ratio = 1.30 / 1.00
CHICKEN MEAL - The chicken we use is strictly human quality chicken flesh and
edible skin, the same as you would serve your family. Our Chicken Meal and other
meat sources do not contain poultry byproducts or other byproducts like chicken
feet, chicken heads, duck heads, beaks, feathers, fish heads, hides, hoofs and
intestines as are commonly found in many so-called "quality" pet foods. There
is no corn, cottonseed, corn cobs, citrus pulp, breakfast food byproducts, soy
beans, fillers, and no screening or other foreign materials such as noxious
weeds, straw, hulls or chaff in our product.
WHEAT BASE - Wheat is far easier to digest than corn or soybean. Utilizing a
combination of various grains, such as ground wheat, wheat flour, wheat germ
meal and ground rice, is much healthier than simply a single type of grain.
PRESERVATIVES - Food spoils without some form of temperature control or the
use of preservatives. Chemical preservatives are NOT acceptable at Flint River
Ranch. We use, instead, only natural Vitamin E in a fat-soluble compound known
as Tocopherol, which works just fine as a preservative for up to twelve months
("peak" preservation for up to six months). Vitamin E is also antioxidant that
retards the oxidation of other vitamins in our food. If necessary, our food
may be frozen to preserve freshness
Most brands of dog food include some byproducts and chemical preservatives.
The use of low quality products and chemical preservatives may be associated
with dry skin, allergic reactions, dental disease, poor health and degenerative
organ dysfunction. The average dog (44 lbs) can consume 26 lbs of preservatives
each year.
The Chicken Meal and Rice formula is oven-baked under carefully controlled
conditions and temperatures - resulting in better nutrition, palatability and
digestibility for your pet. The ultimate in premium nutrition and gourmet
dining!
Oven-baking changes hard to digest starches into easy to digest dextrins,
which are readily absorbed into your dog's system. The secret to good nutrition
is not how many nutrients are present in a dog's food, but rather, how available
they are and how efficiently they can be utilized when digested. The good value
is baked-in, not sprayed on.
Because the Kibble is high density, you feed 20%-25% less than other foods.
Each serving delivers maximum nutrition without Fillers so you'll also notice
a lower stool volume and less cleanup.
The Chicken Meal and Rice formula is made with rice and wheat. Ordinary dog
foods are made with corn. Rice and wheat are easier to digest than corn;
therefore easier on your dog's system. Various selected parts of the wheat berry
are used along with whole wheat flour as it is one of the most nutritionally
balanced grains. A combination of grains provides better nutrition than one
grain.
There's no sprayed-on additive or greasy coating to make the taste
acceptable. Ordinary dog foods are extruded under high pressure and extreme
temperatures and then sprayed with fat and other products in order to encourage
dogs to eat.
When you buy dog food, you're looking for nutrition. Studies have shown that
dogs were required to eat 3 to 4 times as much of an economy brand than a premium
food to provide proper nutrition. Flint River Ranch dog food is cheaper to feed
than other food costing less. There are 80 cups in a 20 lb. bag at a cost of
29 cents per cup. Daily feeding of 2 to 2.5 cups is 58 to 73 cents Compare to
a daily cost of 70 to 90 cents in feeding 3.5 to 5 cups of a food costing 18
to 20 cents per cup. So, while initial outlay may appear more costly, the
reverse in obviously true within a few weeks!
You will be able to see the difference in your dog's healthy skin, coat, and
energy level. Healthy nutrition can also mean less medical bills. Flint River
believes your dog deserves the best possible food!
